Test Method
Sample
Aqueous solutions of SEDORAN FF at the concentrations listed in the table above were used as samples.
Method of measuring foaming
Foam height was measured immediately after foaming at the temperatures listed in the table above according to the Ross-Miles method.
Method of measuring foam rupture
Following the foaming property measurement, the time required for the foaming height to decrease to 10 mm or less was measured.
As shown in the table below, aqueous solutions of the SEDORAN FF products have low surface tension and excellent permeability.

Test Method
Sample
Aqueous solutions of SEDORAN FF at the concentrations listed in the table above were used as neutral samples. The pH was adjusted to 12.8 by using a 1 mass% aqueous solution of sodium metasilicate 9-hydrate to the neutral sample to make it an alkaline sample.
Method of Measuring Surface Tension
The surface tension of the sample was measured at 20°C using a Dunouy surface tension meter.
Method of Measuring Penetration Force
A piece of felt cut into 15 mm squares was gently floated on a sample at 20°C. The time required for the felt to submerge under the surface of the water and begin to sink was measured.
As shown in the table below, "SEDORAN FF" products have excellent cleaning performance under alkaline as well as neutral conditions, and demonstrates sufficient cleaning power even at temperatures about 10°C higher than the cloud point.

Test Method
Sample
Aqueous solutions of SEDORAN FF at the concentrations listed in the table above were used as neutral samples. The pH of the neutral sample was adjusted to 12.8 using a 1 mass% aqueous solution of sodium metasilicate 9-hydrate to make it an alkaline sample.
Methods of Measuring Cleaning Ratio
The following standard contaminated plates (steel plates) were immersed in the sample adjusted to 20°C, 40°C, 55°C, or 80°C for 10 or 20 seconds and then removed and allowed to dry naturally. The cleaned steel plate was taped with cellophane tape and the remaining contaminants were transferred to a blank sheet of paper to obtain the reflectance measurement sample (1).
The standard contaminated plate was also taped with cellophane tape, and the contaminants were transferred to a blank piece of paper to obtain the reflectance measurement sample (2).
Next, the reflectance at a wavelength of 440 nm of the contaminated surfaces (1) and (2) and the surface with cellophane tape attached to the white paper (3) were measured with a multiple light source spectrophotometer, MSC-2 [Suga Testing Machinery Co.
<How to Prepare Standard Contaminated Plates>
Cold-rolled steel sheets that had been polished and cleaned were soaked in the following standard contaminants for 10 seconds, then removed and dried.
Composition of standard stain
Carbon black : 0.3% by mass
#60 spindle oil : 2.5% by mass
Oleic acid : 0.5% by mass
Carbon tetrachloride : 96.7% by mass
Total : 100.0% by mass
<Calculation formula for cleaning rate>
Cleaning rate % = 100 x (RW - RS)/(RO - RS)
RW: Reflectance of (1)
RS: Reflectance of (2)
RO: Reflectance of (3)
